This Privacy Policy explains how Titan1Studios collects, uses, discloses, stores, and safeguards personal information when you access or play Love is a Roguelite on XBOX consoles or purchase/download it via the Microsoft Store.

We limit our collection of personal information to what is strictly necessary to operate, maintain, improve, and secure Love is a Roguelite.
 

A. Information Provided via the XBOX Network

When you play Love is a Roguelite on XBOX, we receive certain data made available through the XBOX network services and your Microsoft account:

  • Account Passwords: We do not request, access, or store your Microsoft account password.

  • Financial & Payment Information: All purchases (including the base game or downloadable content) are processed directly through the Microsoft Store. Titan1Studios never receives or stores credit card details or billing addresses.

  • XBOX Social Graph: We do not store your XBOX Friends lists or private social graph data, except temporary account identifiers necessary to facilitate in-game leaderboards or multiplayer sessions.


3. Purposes of Collection (How We Use Your Information)


Under Canadian privacy laws, we must explicitly state the purposes for which personal data is collected. Titan1Studios uses player data strictly for the following operational purposes:
 

  1. Game Improvement & Enhancement: We may collect and analyze gameplay usage and statistical data to help improve the LIAR experience, optimize game balancing, design future content updates, and refine game mechanics.

  2. Core Gameplay & Feature Delivery: To run the game, sync cloud saves, display leaderboard scores, manage achievements, and maintain game progression.

  3. Quality Assurance & Bug Tracking: To identify technical glitches, analyze crash dumps, prevent game exploits/cheating, and publish game patches.

  4. Customer Support: To respond to player inquiries, technical support tickets, or bug reports submitted directly to Titan1Studios.

  5. Platform Compliance: To fulfill our obligations under Microsoft XBOX developer agreements and maintain platform safety standards.

 

4. Legal Basis and Consent


By installing, launching, or playing Love is a Roguelite on XBOX, you provide consent for Titan1Studios to collect and use your personal information as described in this policy, consistent with PIPEDA.
 

  • Express Consent: We obtain express consent where required by law (e.g., when opting into direct communications or optional data sharing features).

  • Implied Consent: For routine gameplay operations, performance diagnostics, game improvements, and cloud save synchronization, consent is implied through your active gameplay session on XBOX.

  • Withdrawing Consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time by ceasing to play the game, deleting local/cloud save files, or unlinking/uninstalling the game from your XBOX console. Note that withdrawing consent may render certain online features (such as global leaderboards) unavailable.

Titan1Studios does not sell, rent, trade, lease, or monetize your personal information or XBOX user data to third parties, advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing firms.


We may only disclose information in the following limited circumstances:
 

  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party technology providers (e.g., cloud hosting services, back-end game server hosts, or crash-reporting tool providers) who process data strictly on our behalf under strict contractual confidentiality and security terms.

  • Microsoft Deleted Account Notifications: In compliance with XBOX Developer Requirements, when Microsoft notifies Titan1Studios that an end-user has requested the deletion of their personal data, we review and process these requests within 30 days to purge the associated user data from our databases.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose personal information if required to do so by Canadian federal, provincial, or foreign legal process (e.g., court order, subpoena, or law enforcement investigation).
     

6. International Data Transfers & Retention

A. Cross-Border Data Storage

Titan1Studios is based in Canada. However, data collected through Love is a Roguelite may be stored, processed, or transferred to cloud servers located in Canada, the United States, or other international regions depending on our cloud infrastructure partners (e.g., Microsoft Azure). Personal information stored outside Canada may be subject to access by foreign law enforcement or government authorities pursuant to applicable foreign laws.


B. Retention Principles

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or to satisfy legal, accounting, and compliance requirements. When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted, anonymized, or destroyed.

 

7. Children’s Privacy, Age Ratings, & Family Safety

 

Age Rating & Intended Audience: Love is a Roguelite is not intended for under-aged audiences. The game is expected to carry an ESRB rating of TEEN (T) or MATURE (M). We encourage parents and guardians to review the game's rating and content warnings before allowing younger players access.
 

While the game is not targeted at children, Love is a Roguelite respects the privacy of any younger players who may access it. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13 (or 14 in Quebec) without appropriate consent as required by Canadian privacy standards and XBOX Family Safety settings.
